Hi all. This is Amanii Walton. She is my 8-year-old daughter and full of life and personality. On March 19, 2018, she was rushed to the hospital because she complained about recurring stomach pains and could not keep any food down. After multiple tests, MRIs, and x-rays, she was diagnosed with Pancreatic Divisum, which has led to Pancreatitis. Over the last four years, she has been seen by specialists in Dallas, TX, multiple times and provided the best care they can offer.
Unfortunately, her condition has not improved, and she is now needing surgery to remove her pancreas to avoid future diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Yet, due to the rarity of her condition in small children, only a handful of specialists can treat her in the US and perform the surgery needed. Thus, she is being referred to the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, the only facility equipped in the country that can do the surgery successfully.
We are collecting funds to help cover the cost of getting her to Cincinnati and funds to help with the expenses, as we are unsure how long she will be in recovery. We hope to have the resources readily available so we can move with no hesitation (which will be within the next few months). Any amount helps, and we are eternally grateful for your support and prayers. Please continue to cover her as well as us (her parents) in your prayers.
"For I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal, declares the Lord" - Jeremiah 30:17
