Help Amanda with Medical Bills

Hi, my name is Amanda Lalanne, we might have met while working as a bartender or at my full time job at the hotel. Maybe we shared a story at a local bike night. 2019 was tough and 2021 is proving to be just as hard. Last year, with the restrictions of covid 19, I was placed on furlough indefinitely at the hotel. I have been able to commit to volunteer work for pet fostering organizations, and friends have let me pick up shifts at bars. After 6 months and no sign of the pandemic slowing down, my insurance coverage was discontinued and employment was lost.

In September of 2021, I started losing my appetite and gradual weight loss began.  With such little changes, I didn't have much concern. In early January, I went to dinner with friends and within 10 minutes after being sat, I felt different. I started having seizures and trouble communicating, this is something I have never experienced, I was scared. I was rushed to the ER that night and stayed for the next 24 hours.

I was diagnosed as severely malnourished and given electrolytes over the 1 day stay. I was referred to a specialist to determine what the cause was. After additional tests and a preliminary surgery to obtain biopsy results, it was determined that my symptoms were conducive to a severe case of gallbladder stones.

With no coverage, my options were limited. I made the appointment regardless, knowing that I couldn't bare the pain and I needed a solution. I planned ahead and coordinated with the surgeons office and came up with a payment plan. I sold some personal belongings and took out a personal loan to pay for the surgery.

It has been 2 weeks since my gallbladder was removed. In the last 14 days my condition persists. After more tests and blood work I have been diagnosed with a very rare disease that will require a high risk surgery.

SMA syndrome is a rare disease involving the small intestine and the aortal artery attached to the heart. I will need a surgery that can alleviate this artery and promote healthy circulation. This procedure costs 150k without insurance.

I am at a crossroads in my life right now and I feel helpless. I have done everything the medical community has asked and now I don't know what to do. In order to proceed with the operation, the hospital requests 50,000 down because of the severity of the procedure. I have applied for Obama care and coverage is pending, but this case would still be in review because of the nature of coverage lapse.

I am requesting assistance with $40,000. I have resources that will enable me to get the remaining 10k but I need the $50,000 to get the surgery. I am not able to take out another loan and I have maxed out my credit cards. I have lost 30lbs since September 2020; on March 12th I weighed in at 99lbs. I need medical attention soon. Please donate if you can and, simply share, if you can't.
