Last night, Amanda’s beloved free-and-wild spirited dog Zora was running around in pure joy in our yard. In her exuberance, she darted out onto the highway and was struck.

She survived the initial impact, but had all-but-lost one leg and would need severe skin closure surgery.

Zora bravely and calmly came with us into Springfield, to the emergency vet, to get checked out. The prognosis wasn’t good; at best she would have a 50/50 chance of survival after a very expensive surgery. Out of love and compassion to reduce the amount of suffering in the world, Amanda made the difficult decision to help Zora cross over to be with her departed brother and sister, the late Chester and Stormy.

With the work that needed to be done to stabilize Zora and put her to sleep, the vet bill came out to $1,500. Please give whatever you can to help support Amanda with this unexpected expense and in this terribly difficult time.
