Hello everyone!

My name is Amanda Ballinger, I am a Junior at Cal State University Northridge studying Vocal Performance. I have been training in Classical Music for 3 years now and recently transferred to CSUN. There I have worked tirelessly and have flourished as a musician. Being part of the Aria Program and cast in the virtual opera this semester has allowed me to explore as an artist. I knew I wanted to gain experience by participating in a Summer program. After much consideration I applied for programs that would challenge me and nurture my ability.

I am so excited to announce that I have been accepted by La Musica Lirica, International Opera Festival for singers.  This extraordinary program takes place in Novafeltria, Italy, located in the Marches region, and runs from June 13th to July 17th, 2021. The program will allow me to work with nationally and internationally recognized faculty.

I will have the opportunity to perform in a fully staged opera production with the professional Symphony Orchestra from Ravenna, Italy. In addition to rehearsing the opera, during the first four weeks I will receive up to 20 hours of Italian per week, two half hour coaching with Rossini Opera Festival coaches, two forty five minute voice lessons and several master classes.

The overall cost of the five week program is around $7,000, which includes tuition, transportation, room and board. I also need to purchase the round trip plane ticket which range from $1400-2000 after taxes. Lastly I need money for food and other expenses not covered in the program while in Italy.
