We are reaching out on behalf of our daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Stefan Doric, and their two children, who suffered a devastating loss on the morning of Saturday, September 27, 2025.
While Stefan was at work, a fire broke out and rapidly consumed their entire home, leaving barely enough time for Amanda and the children to escape. Amanda’s quick thinking and bravery saved her children’s lives as she rushed them to safety. She then risked her own life, running back inside multiple times to try and save their beloved pets—Lily the dog, Duke and Duchess the cats, and Jerry the Bearded Dragon. On her last attempt, a neighbor pulled her out from the blaze, as she was overwhelmed and desperate to reach Duke and Jerry. Thankfully, firefighters arrived just in time and managed to rescue them.
Little Duke, only 3 months old, is still fighting to recover from smoke inhalation and is on medication for his fragile lungs. The family is hopeful he will pull through.
By the grace of God and the quick action of neighbors and first responders, Amanda, Julian, Andre, and their pets all survived. But the trauma of escaping the fire, watching their home burn, and losing everything inside is something that cannot be undone.
Their family home—the only home Julian and Andre have ever known—is gone and all of their belongings along with it. The boys, especially Julian, who is on the Autism Spectrum, are struggling to understand why they can’t just “go home.” It is heartbreaking to see them trying to cope with this fresh trauma, while having lost every piece of comfort and familiarity.
The children have no clothes, toys, books, or special things left.
Amanda and Stefan are deeply grateful that the loss is only material, but the weight of starting over is enormous.
While insurance will help in the long run with rebuilding the house, it won’t cover urgent needs—clothing, food, temporary housing, furniture, pet care, and all the essentials of daily life.
Amanda and Stefan are the kind of people who always go out of their way to help others in need. Now it’s our turn to rally around them. Many of you have asked, “What can we do to help?” This GoFundMe is one way we can come together to support this beautiful family as they rebuild their lives from the ground up.
If you’re not able to donate, please consider sharing this page to help spread the word. Every prayer, every act of kindness, and every contribution—no matter how small—means the world to our family.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping Amanda, Stefan, Julian, Andre, and their pets through this devastating time
