My name is Amanda, and I’m reaching out for help to restore my smile and my life. Five years ago, after giving birth to my beautiful daughter, I began losing my teeth one by one. I was born with weak, thinning enamel and am lactose intolerant, so I never had enough calcium. When I was pregnant, my body gave everything to my baby, (I wouldn't have it any other way either) and after she was born, my dental health rapidly declined. A couple months ago, I had to have three teeth removed in an emergency because of a marble-sized abscess from an infection in the roof of my mouth. Now, I can’t eat right, talk right, and I definitely don’t look like right anymore. I used to be a print model, but now people only look at my mouth, not my eyes. My confidence is gone, and I can’t get employment. I refuse to smile, and my daughter doesn’t need a mother who cries all day and hides her face. I’ve visited three different implant and denture businesses here in Omaha, and the cost for the dental work I need is insanely overwhelming. I want to be able to eat without pain, smile without shame, and show up confidently for job interviews and at my daughter’s school for plays and PTAs. I want to be the parent my daughter deserves and reclaim my health and sense of self. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings me closer to these goals. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page means just as much. Visibility changes lives, and your support—big or small—would mean the world to me and my daughter.
