My name is Amanda, and I’m reaching out because my kids and I are at risk of losing our home. This is incredibly difficult for me to do—those who know me know I’m always the first to offer help, not ask for it. But after a series of setbacks, I’m facing a situation I can’t get through alone.

In June, I lost my full-time job and, at the same time, my health took a turn. I’ve been struggling with asthma, COPD, a recent Hashimoto’s diagnosis, and high blood pressure. As I tried to manage my health and look for work, my housing costs suddenly shot up and my homeowners insurance more than doubled. I also lost a roommate, making it even harder to keep up. Since August, I’ve fallen behind on my mortgage, and now I’m at risk of foreclosure if I can’t get caught up by January 19th, 2026.

I’ve been piecing together part-time jobs, but without stable income, it’s impossible to find a new place to rent or buy. I have no idea where my kids, my two roommates, and our animals would go if we lose our home. I’ve always been the one people can count on, but now I need a little help to get through this.
