Help Amanda Keep Her Home This Christmas

My name is Amanda and I’m a 31 year old single mom. I work in the Athens area as a teacher. I am typically the person who is looking for ways to be helpful for others in need but now I am going through a really tough season of life myself.

I have been trying to navigate leaving an unhealthy, emotionally/financially abusive situation for some time now. This has been a lengthy process that has taken a lot of mental planning and financial preparation (ie getting bills in separate names, getting my own car, etc) to make this big, permanent life change one that is sustainable. I am desperately trying to keep our home to provide stability for my son and keep the job that I love-shaping the lives of children. That means that I am stuck with only a couple weeks to come up with the money to cover the expenses to keep from losing our home. With Christmas right around the corner, this is the worst time for this to be happening and I truly need a miracle to keep from losing our home right at Christmas.

If you know me, you know that asking for help is the thing that I struggle with more than anything else but regardless of how humiliating and degrading it feels, I’m willing to do whatever it takes to keep this safe and stable home for my child.

With how much damage was done over the years to my credit, it will take time to rebuild and finding a new place isn’t an option for me now. If you find it in your heart to donate to help, I would be eternally grateful. I am willing to work my butt off to repay or pay forward anything that is donated to help my son and I. I am working full time, babysitting any time I’m free, and selling anything that I have of value to come up with as much of the funds on my own but I don’t think I can do it on my own.
