Hi, my name is Amanda and life has literally smacked me in the face. On July 2nd, my life changed unexpectedly due to a random fall after passing out. I landed face/chest first flat on the wood floor, breaking ribs and busting my front teeth, and have now been out of work since. After being seen for the fall and getting a new treatment plan for my diabetes while I heal, I ended up feeling super sick a week later and was so unwell I had no choice but to come back to the hospital. Come to find out, I had developed a very large abscess on the outside of my colon. I got admitted and told I'd need to be transported to a higher-tech hospital for an emergency procedure. I've had a drain put in and will have to be sent home to care for it. I'm still in the hospital having some tests done because I may have heart-related issues, which could be the cause of the fall in the first place. As the two things are unrelated, I would have never known about the infection if I hadn't fallen and could have developed sepsis and died if unattended to. I have multiple procedures and appointments to come after I'm discharged, including a colonoscopy to see if cancer could be the cause of the diverticulitis (which caused the abscess on the colon). On top of all of this, I lost my beloved mother 2 months ago and I miss her dearly. I have emotional support but financially I have nothing at this point. Not sure if or when I'll be able to start back to work, so I am asking for donations to help through this hardship. This money will help pay for gas for appointments and food as I have no income and to pay bills. I'm just another person trying to make a living and be around for my family. 30 is too young to leave this earth and I know my journey is just beginning. Thanks for reading and hopefully we'll get through this together.
