Dear Friends,
Our friend Amanda needs our help! We are powerless when it comes to the injustice she is experiencing but you can support her by responding to this request and sharing it with anyone who will listen. If you cannot give monetarily, she is also in need of our friendship, words of encouragement and prayer.
We have been a part of Amanda’s extended for family more than 15 years and can attest to her caring nature and compassion. Amanda loves every living thing but is passionate about the "plight" of neglected, abused, and misplaced children. Her resume is centered
around these children and that is what sparked her desire to become a "foster mom".
Ten years ago, she began the selfless journey of loving, teaching, nursing, and caring for the innocent ones in our society who desperately need what she had to offer, a safe place. . . in her home and in her heart. Scores of children have passed through her home. They arrive with only the clothes on their back. As natural as breathing, Amanda goes into action. She clothes them and gathers every age appropriate "accessory" to insure the child's comfort and safety. The moment they appeared, they were "hers" and she loved and protected them like her very own.
Her first foster child Alexis, is now her daughter a healthy 13-year-old who came into her life battered and broken. There is 1 biological son Rayne, and at any given time has been up to 4 foster children in her care. If you were in her home, or observed her large family at a park or a restaurant, you would be hard-pressed to distinguish which ones were "fosters". She worked tirelessly to get them reunited them with their biological families. Each time, she grieved when they left and then
reached out for another.
Right now, Amanda’s heart is broken. First because a baby was injured, but also because this unexplainable accident has closed her foster home and she lost a child that she had mothered for 3 ½ years and hoped to adopt. Her 2 older children know that their mother would never intentionally hurt a child and they miss all of the children, but especially their little "sister". They are sad. She and Bill now have a
brand-new baby, but struggling not to let these circumstances steal their joy.
This is a physically, emotionally, and financially devastating time for this family. The system in place to “protect” has this one wrong! Amanda is helplessly facing an unknown future and debt. There are looming expenses and due to the constraints of the court, she cannot work so her income has ended. Every day of waiting is a horrible
nightmare and now they are also at risk of losing their home. Their lives has forever changed.
For many years Amanda's email signature has read: “If you have money, give of your wealth. If you have little, give of your heart”.
She has served our community by giving her heart, now her community has the opportunity to help her through this unfair process. Please share what you can.
Thank you so much for taking the time in reading this and even more thank you for the love and support for our friend.
Love Always,
Ashlyn Pippin, Jackie Reddish, and Ahna Clark
