Era maestra de preescolar, madre, amiga y la mujer más maravillosa que tocó la vida de muchos.

Nuestra madre ha ayudado a aprender español a tantos niños por más de una década. Trataba a cada uno de ellos con respeto, amor y como si fueran suyos. Ella ha apoyado activamente y ha sido parte de cada una de sus vidas tanto como ha podido.

Ella nos ha ayudado a mí y a mi hermano durante nuestros momentos más oscuros, aunque a veces podríamos estar enojados con ella. Siempre estuvo allí para ayudarnos. No podríamos haber pedido una mejor madre.

Fue un día terrible cuando se enfermó de problemas cardíacos. Durante semanas, pensamos que tenía Covid, estaba comiendo menos, tenía problemas para respirar y estaba cansada todo el tiempo. Pero después de tres semanas, y sin progresos de mejora, la llevamos a emergencias. Luego fue derivada al hospital, donde más tarde se hizo evidente que tenía un problema cardíaco, pero esto no fue lo que la mató.

Cuando tenía programada una cirugía para reparar su válvula aórtica (para que pueda ser reemplazada por una sintética) se descubrió que había una vena cardíaca deshilachada, el médico intentó repararla, pero no tuvieron éxito. La pusieron en una máquina ECMO y le dieron una probabilidad de 50/50 de sobrevivir. Sin embargo, disminuyó constantemente a medida que sus órganos comenzaron a fallar y sus pulmones empeoraron, cada vez más, debido a la presión ejercida sobre su cuerpo. Sus probabilidades disminuyeron al 5% y no mejoraría.

Fuimos al hospital varias veces para darle nuestro apoyo y contarle sobre todas las personas que enviaron sus mensajes de amor y oraciones. La última vez que la vimos fue el día de la madre, donde le dijimos cuánto la queríamos y cuánto la amaban los demás, luego nos despedimos y fuimos a casa. Nuestra madre murió al día siguiente, 05/11/2020, a las 5:05 a.m.

Por favor, considere ayudar a sus hijos Kenneth y Brent en este momento difícil en el que atraviesan esta tragedia y tratan de continuar en la vida sin su amada madre.

She was a preschool teacher, a mother, a friend, and the most wonderful woman to have touched anyone’s life.

Our mother has helped teach Spanish to so many children for over a decade. She treated each of them with respect, love and as though they were her own. She has actively supported and been part of every one of their lives as much as she can.

She has helped me and my brother through our darkest moments even though we could be angry towards her at times. She has always been there to help and aid us to the best of her abilities. We couldn’t have asked for a better mother.

It was a terrible day when she fell sick with heart issues. For weeks, we thought she had Covid, she was eating less, had trouble breathing and was tired all the time. But after three weeks, and with no progression of getting better, we took her to a urgent care. She was then administered into the hospital, where it later became apparent, that she had a heart problem, but this wasn’t the thing that killed her.

When she was scheduled to get surgery to fix her aortic valve; so that it could be replaced with a synthetic one. It was also found that there was a frayed heart vein, the doctor’s tried to repair it, but they were not successful.

She was put on an ECMO machine and given a 50/50 chance to survive. However It steadily declined as her organs started to fail and her lungs became worse and worse due to all the strain being put on her body. Her odds declined to 5% and it wouldn’t get better.

We went to the hospital several times to give her our support and tell her all the people who have sent and given her love and prayers. The last time we saw her was on mother’s day where we told her how much we loved her and how much everyone else did too, then said our goodbye’s and went home. Afterwards she died the next day at 5:05 AM on 5/11/2020.
