Help Amanda fight Stage IV Colon Cancer
Donation protected
In July 2021 Amanda was not feeling well and was admitted to the hospital for suspected diverticulitis. After multiple days in the hospital, she was discharged and told to follow up with the doctor in a week. Time passed and Amanda was not feeling better. In fact, she was beginning to feel worse, so she set up a colonoscopy to be completed on October1, 2021. At this time, the doctors were unable to complete the colonoscopy due to a large mass near her rectum and was admitted for observation due to uncontrollable pain.
After a scan was completed, the surgeon and hospitalists determined that Amanda needed surgery to remove the mass and create a temporary colostomy. During surgery, complications arose and the surgeon was not only unable to remove the mass, they also discovered the tumors had spread throughout her abdomen. At this time biopsies were obtained and later determined to be colon cancer.
After meeting with doctors at the Carbone Cancer Center in Madison, Amanda was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer. Currently, Amanda is being treated with multiple chemotherapy medications to help her in her toughest fight she'll ever experience.
That being said, the cost of treatment is quite expensive as she will encounter lab tests, clinic visits, medications, surgery, imaging, hospital stays, home care, and transportation.
Unfortunately, Amanda is not able to continue her in-home daycare which was the families primary source of income. As a wife and mother, the uncertainty is truly terrifying as medical and living expenses continue to build up.
We are so grateful for any donations and we are all hoping for the best possible outcome.
Please help Amanda in the biggest battle of her life!
Thank you all again for your outpouring love and support. No words can describe how grateful Amanda is for having such supportive family and friends!
