My names Marie and alot of you may already know this but Amanda is my best friend and right now her family is facing a difficult time. Unexpectedly Sunday night her 7 week old was airlifted to childrens hospital for an unknown medical condition. At this time baby Lucas has already received blood, platelets, and a spinal tap. They are being told they could be in childrens for a few weeks. Amanda fought hard to have Lucas , she pushed thru pre eclampsia and delivered a beautiful healthy boy. Right now they could use your help with gas, food, and keeping their bills paid as both parents will be by Lucas's side at childrens during all of this ♥️
Update: Lucas had a blood exchange last evening..today he is getting a bone marrow biopsy ...abdominal ultrasound as he has fluid in the belly...and he will get an mri of the head tonight...he is currently intubated for all of this testing.
We are thankful for all of the love and support for our baby boy unfortunately Lucas has a very long road ahead of him.
We do now have a diagnosis HLH syndrome (Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis). We are still waiting on the genetic testing to determine if it is primary or secondary. However they do believe it is primary. Lucas started chemotherapy last night, he did well with it. Lucas will have 8 weeks of chemotherapy as an inpatient at Children’s Hospital
Please keep Lucas and our family in your thoughts and prayers. ❤️
7/31 Update...Lucas has 7 more weeks of chemo then a bone marrow transplant and will need to be in the hospital 4-6 weeks after that and as of now 3 weekly visits to the clinic..but TODAY was big..he got his tube out! And mom and dad got to hold him again ♥️
DAY 0️ 11/4/2025
Today is the day!! Lucas will get his cells transfused in hopes that in about the 10th day they will start to grow in his body on their own! Many people are unaware that a BMT is just that: a transfusion. Nothing more, nothing less. There is no procedure, no anesthesia. However for Lucas, his biggest risks come over the next few weeks. Lucas has absolutely no immune system to fight off anything until his new bone marrow cells en graph. Even after his new cells come in, his immune system is brand new so it will need to learn how to work itself! This is where the 100 day count down comes in. Usually by 100 days post transplant, if you’re going to run into any major issues…usually this is when that will happen. If everyone could continue to pray for Lucas in the next coming weeks/months.❤️
