Amanda is a vibrant 31 year old with a passion for the outdoors, plants and anything that involves having fun with her husband Corey and dog Remi. Amanda is a strong leader in the amazing company she works for, with a bright future. Unfortunately, Amanda was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia shortly before Christmas. Even with this heartbreaking news, Amanda continues to be positive and a fighter and knows its going to be a long journey but is ready for her next steps.
She is an otherwise healthy strong baddy who is ready to kick this cancer's butt. Being diagnosed with cancer at the young age of 31 is already enough of a burden so our hope is that we can relieve some of the burden by raising money for our best friend and her family for her to get the best of the best care.
All donations made will go to the following:
- Chemotherapy and Hospital bills: Amanda underwent a bone marrow biopsy and aspiration where it was determined she did have AML. Unfortunately, Amanda was then admitted to the hospital on Dec. 23rd due to fear of sepsis from her oncologist. Luckily, was discharged the afternoon of the 24th and able to spend Christmas with her family! Not without many tests to ensure she was ok to go home. Amanda will be admitted to start induction therapy within the week. She just found out she luckily will get to remain in Missoula getting her first round of chemotherapy and blood transfusions. She will undergo weekly tests and more bone marrow biopsies to determine how her body is responding to the chemotherapy.
- Travel & Amenities: Amanda and her family will more than likely begin their journey to Seattle in the coming months where she may be getting prolonged treatment after her initial induction therapy in Missoula. This is dependent on how her body is healing or responds to the initial chemotherapy in Missoula. She will also be getting a stem cell evaluation in Seattle, to determine if she will need this for her treatment. This comes at a cost and we are hoping to support where we can to offset some of this cost! It may be gas and food and hotel for the family to drive to Seattle as the risk of exposure on planes is extremely high especially with Amanda's compromised immune system. We will update as soon as we know more information about Amanda's treatment.
We want to thank you for your donation and thoughts to Amanda and her family. She is an amazingly strong woman with such a great future ahead of her. While we are devastated at this news, we have all the confidence that she will pull through as she has an amazing support system. We love you Amanda! SLAY QUEEN.
