Hello Everyone, my name is Amanda and this is the last thing I wanted to be sharing. I am behind on my rent due to my health and from trying to find jobs that aren’t physically demanding. I was diagnosed in October of 2023 with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and osteoarthritis in the right wrist and Patellofemoral Syndrome in both knees. My condition was only worsening with the physical requirements of my job at the time, so I made the decision to put my health first and pursue other career options. I am working roughly about 8 hours a week for the Duluth School District during the day. I also just took on another job near the end of November working with children in foster homes but there was a delay on their part on getting me started thus creating it difficult for me to be able to fully pay all my bills. I was also on the verge of losing my car and finally got that caught up on.
I now have 14 days to come up with my past due balance for my rent or I will be facing an eviction. I have applied for emergency assistance through the county, I have looked into other outlets for emergency assistance as well.
I have asked my landlord if I could set up a payment plan and they said that it wouldn’t be enough to keep me from falling behind even more. (Attached picture) I am at a loss for words and fully feel like a failure and prepared for any judgement that comes my way from this.
I am working as much as I can, while picking up hours and still trying to be there for my kids. The last thing I want is for us to be homeless in the middle of winter. Please help if you can. I am ashamed to even be asking for help. There is no one harder on me than I am to myself, so please don’t judge or say anything negative.
