Hi everyone — my name is Amanda, and this is not something I ever imagined doing, but I’m asking for help during a very difficult time.

I’ve been diagnosed with stage 4 liver cirrhosis, and because of my health I’ve had to take unpaid medical leave from work. I’m currently waiting to see a specialist, but the earliest appointment I could get is in March. Until then, I’m unable to work, and the bills keep coming.

As a single mom of two kids under 15, my biggest priority is making sure they have what they need and being as present as I can for them. While I have a lot of support in most ways, some will be a real struggle for a while, like groceries (due to the extreme change in diet I need to make) and maintaining my car and insurance to get to and from my appointments. It is crucial for me to have transportation to get the care I need. The only specialists available for me at this time are in St.Louis.

-medications and medical costs that aren’t covered
