Help Amanda Access Life Extending Cancer Treatment Overseas

On May 19th, 2024, Amanda’s life changed forever.

She was finishing a five-mile hike when her leg buckled. It gave out again when she got home. This had never happened to her before. She knew something was wrong.

After initially being dismissed by an urgent care doctor and told that she had TMJ, Amanda was diagnosed with Glioblastoma (GBM)—a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer.

The diagnosis is terminal, with an average life expectancy of just 16 months.

Today, Amanda is 23 months into her journey, making her a long-term survivor and a true outlier in the GBM world.

If you’ve followed Amanda’s story, you’ve seen how she has chosen to live—with presence, humor, transparency, and a deep love for all beings, even in the face of the unimaginable.

She lifts others up and has become a beacon of light in the GBM community, helping people navigate their terminal diagnosis with positivity and hope.

Unfortunately, after months of positive progress, Amanda’s January MRI revealed tumor regrowth.

On February 3rd, she underwent another brain surgery. She completed 10 rounds of re-radiation in March and will be restarting chemotherapy on April 14th.

Amanda isn’t willing to simply “wait and see.”

She is choosing to do everything she can to create more time, more memories, and more life.

A New Opportunity for Hope

Amanda has the opportunity to pursue treatment at a specialized clinic in Germany (IOZK), where they offer personalized immunotherapy tailored to each individual patient.

The goal of this treatment is to induce immunogenic cell death and help train her immune system to better recognize and eliminate cancer cells.

This approach works alongside her current treatment and offers a meaningful opportunity for more time and quality of life.

This opportunity comes with a significant commitment, both physically and financially—one Amanda cannot meet without you.

What This Will Take

For the next 6–12 months, Amanda will travel to Germany every four weeks.

Each cycle includes:

• 5 days of chemotherapy at home
• An immediate 11-hour flight to Germany within a strict treatment window
• A full week of treatment abroad
• A two week recovery period at home before starting again

Amanda is choosing this not just for herself, but in the hope that experiences like hers can shine a light on the need for additional treatment possibilities.

Amanda hopes to inspire more innovation and accessibility for others facing GBM.

The Financial Reality

Each treatment cycle costs approximately $14,000.
The two personalized vaccine phases are approximately $25,000 each.

With ongoing travel, lodging, and medical costs, the financial burden is overwhelming—especially as Amanda is on permanent disability and I have significantly reduced my workload to be her full-time caregiver.

Why This Matters

Amanda understands the reality of this diagnosis and still chooses joy, love, and purpose every single day. Watch one of her videos and listen to her giggle - it is medicine for the soul.

She feels deeply grateful for the time she has been given and is committed to using her life to raise awareness for GBM and contribute to progress in treatment and research.
