Help Ama Share His Inspiring Story

This is my first-ever documentary series done by me! I am writing, directing, filming, and editing! This film has been in my heart since I was 11 years old, and now here I am 12 years later, stepping into my lifelong dream. I am following the story of a young boy named Ama who grew up in a small village in Mozambique. When Ama was very little, his Dad taught him to surf; that was how they would spend time together. Surfing gave Ama a desire to work hard for something and to dream big goals in improving in his surfing. It kept Ama out of trouble and gave him an outlet to deal with the hardships of life. His parents died when he was very young, and he was forced to live on the streets. Ama grew up in very harsh conditions, but his love for the ocean and surfing kept him going. One day, Ama got very sick and was forced to seek help from the village doctors. Years later, it is revealed that this is how he met his adopted parents, who now live in San Deigo, California. After meeting his new parents, they brought Ama to America and introduced him to a community of amazing friends who all share the same love of surfing as Ama. I am going on a wild adventure to tell the story of Ama's life and the undeniable miracles that got him where he is today. Despite all odds, Ama now lives in an incredible surf community filled with people who support and care for him. Together, we will embark on the trip of a lifetime to Nicaragua to surf some of the best waves in the world to fulfill Ama's dream surf trip.

Ama went from having nothing and no one to surfing the best waves in the world with the friendships that saved his life.

He now wants to share his story to encourage others to find community and to show that even when everything seems lost, there is still hope!
