Hi all! I'm Alyx, a licensed professional counselor and transmasc guy who you may know from the Our Flag Means Death or Prodigal Son fan communities. To make a long story short, I'm in need of some urgent assistance after two emergency eye surgeries.

The short story long:

On 5/5/2023, my retina detached, and I had to undergo emergency surgery. Unfortunately, it wasn't a success and I have to undergo another, more invasive operation on 5/12/2023. While I was originally only supposed to be out of work for two weeks, I'm now looking at up to a month of recovery, during which time I will be unable to see clients or get paid. I am grateful to have short-term disability insurance, but it only covers 60% of my income. That will cover my rent and some utilities, but I'm losing out on 40% of my income. This means my ability to pay for food, gas, and other bills is in jeopardy, in addition to paying for the surgeries themselves, since I have a high insurance deductible.

I'm hoping to gather $2,500+ to help cover my cost of living and medical expenses. Every dollar helps, and I'm incredibly grateful to each and every person who can donate or share. Due to the nature of my surgery, I likely will not be able to reply to most of you, but I sincerely appreciate you.
