18 year old Alyssia designed and made this bridal jumpsuit as part of the Calico Brides assessment at TAFE.

The bridal jumpsuit was an entrant in the International Design Awards in California. Alyssia won the Gold  Award for this design. There were 1570 entrants from 90 countries in the fashion category.

Alyssia is both thrilled and humbled to receive international recognition for her design.
She has been invited to a gala awards event in West Hollywood to receive her award and meet some of fashion’s most influential designers. The event is next  month! 25/4/19. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for Alyssia but unfortunately she doesn’t have time to save money to enable her to attend. She has been working long hours at her two jobs but she hasn’t reached her goal.

Alyssia would absolutely love to have the opportunity to network with international fashion icons and emerging talent. She feels that this trip to L.A. would help further her education and knowledge of the international fashion industry. In particular she is looking to connect with mentors to help her start her own label. She is seeking sponsorship/donations to assist with airfares and accommodation.
