Help Alyssa’s Paralympic Dream

Paraswimmers are assessed to test their physical functioning. I have cerebral palsy which impairs my legs and left arm. The classification process allows me to compete against other swimmers who have similar functional impairments. Being able to travel to Saskatoon will allow me to begin competing at a higher level, which is imperative to making the Canadian Paralympic team.
I suffered two brain bleeds 24 hours after my premature birth. I had a grade IV brain bleed(that’s the worst level)on the right and a grade III bleed on the left. My prognosis at the time was that I would be bedridden, non-verbal and severely mentally impaired. I have spent the last 16 years working hard to prove the doctors wrong.
Having a physical disability comes with many challenges including an increased financial burden on the family, including increased financial costs with participation in para-sport. My gratitude for your support of my Paralympic journey is immeasurable. Thank you. ❤️
