Help Alyssa Save Athena's Legs

Please help Alyssa and her kids save their best friend/ companion.

Athena is a 6 yr old terrier whom is adorable and as sweet as can be! (Big puppy at heart)

Athena has recently lost the ability to walk. In May 2024 Athena ruptured the ligaments in both her hind knees. She no longer can bare any weight on her left hind leg and her right gives out on her more with each step taken. In order to help Athena walk again she needs two very expensive surgeries. Alyssa is a single mother of 2. She is a small business owner who works full time and has spent her savings on Athenas vet bills and on going pain medications. She is doing everything in her power to get Athena the care she needs. Alyssa doesn’t like to ask for help and is always the first one to give! Sometimes it takes a village and I'm hoping to find her one!

“Athena is a huge ray of sunshine. She's cant help but forcefully love everyone. She's 97lbs and truly has no idea she is crushing you climbing on top of you to snuggle. Her happy personality adds so much silliness to our lives! She's our favorite dance party partner! She never misses out on the fun!

Athena has helped heal me in so many ways. She has been here for me through every hardship. She's the noise that breaks the never ending silence that fills the house when my kids are with their dads. She's my adventure buddy. She keeps me going.

She’s truly a rare gem who deserves to not be in pain anymore. She deserves to be able to go to the bathroom when she needs to. To be able to get fresh air when she wants to. Getting her the surgeries she needs will give her the opportunity to have the life back that she craves and deserves. Please help our girl.”

Alyssa has already spent a good amount on Athena and still has to come up with $5k-8k per surgery. She will need to have 2 surgeries to save her legs. Due to a high risk of infection the longer a surgery lasts, she can't have them done on the same day. Her Left hind leg needs to be fixed asap! Athena has gone from hiking, playing outside and running around with the kids daily, to laying down all day in pain. She has so much built up energy with zero output and she is getting depressed. The longer Athena goes without the care she needs more issues are going to arise and putting Athena down would devastate their family.

Alyssa only weighs 10lbs more then Athena and has to carry her up and down a flight of stairs every time Athena needs to go to the bathroom. It is not safe! She is truly struggling! I am asking to please help save Athena’s legs. Even a share would go a long way! I will update every step of the way as well for anyone who wants to know how Athena is doing!
