Anyone who knows Alyssa knows she has worked hard for everything she has in order to get the life she knows she deserves. And now through no fault of her own, Alyssa is in crisis and facing some urgent deadlines. On October 31st, her lease is up and shortly after that she’ll be losing her job due to Covid cuts.  For years she has been balancing all of life’s stressors while fighting her mental illnesses and traumas but it’s simply too much for anyone to handle, even someone as strong as she is.  We've been working hard to get her into treatment but unfortunately a lot of facilities are at capacity and it's likely that she may be unable to get into inpatient before she loses her apartment. Alyssa is one of the most selfless friends who loves deeply and constantly goes out of her way to help others. Now she really needs our help and it's not easy for her to ask. She deserves to feel safe and to work on finally finding some inner peace that her traumas have robbed her of for so long now. I know money is tight for a lot of us now but even a dollar makes a difference, we see you and appreciate all of the donations no matter how small! If you can't donate sharing this page is also a huge help. Her countless friends (furry and human) need her to get through this, we need her laughter and her light here with us. - Alyssa’s Family (Sara)

I'm reaching out for help as I've fought really hard to survive past traumas and mental illnesses, I've reached a breaking point.  As some of you may know, I struggle with day to day life, everything is a battle.

There's only so much a person can do alone, without the right resources and experts. I want to put in the work to heal, this requires intensive therapy/treatment. I've received traditional therapy and seen multiple psychiatrists in the past, but it was merely putting a band-aid on a deep wound. My goal is to get to a point where my mental illnesses aren't negatively impacting every factor of my daily life. I believe with one month of inpatient treatment minimum, I can be the best version of myself without my mental illnesses defining me.

It's extremely hard to admit needing this kind of help with so much stigma around mental illness. However, I'm taking the initiative to be vulnerable and ask for help. I believe it's the only way for me to keep going in life.

In 1 month I'm losing my job due to Covid-19. Due to this, in 1 month I'm also losing my housing. My last day in my apartment is October 31st.  Additionally, in 4 months I'm losing my health insurance (due to losing my job). This situation affecting my basic needs, is also exacerbating my mental illnesses.

Myself and close friends/family have been in close contact with multiple client advocates and program facilitators to find best options that will work with my insurance. I found an inpatient program that's a good fit. For the first time in years I'm hopeful. While insurance covers some costs, there are many other costs to ensure I'm able to get help and stay in a safe place.

My Needs:

-These donations will cover out of pocket treatment costs for Inpatient treatment
-A car to be able to access doctor appointments
-My goal is to begin treatment November 1st
-I need help as soon as possible to avoid needing temporary housing
-I'll need a deposit for my new living situation after Inpatient

Every little bit helps. Thank you so much. I love you! xoxoxo
