Hi! My name is Alyssa James, and I am a first-generation college student!

I am currently entering my last year at the School of Visual Arts!

Growing up on the Navajo reservation, I never thought that I'd be able to get into the school of my dreams, let alone attend. I packed up me my two cats and everything I owned and moved to New York City. I have used everything I could have to pursue this dream, and I am still praying and hoping I can have it.

I create art and stories to talk about things that are important to me. To talk about things I have experienced that would have helped me early on. To tell stories about mental health and my Navajo culture
