Help Alyssa Attend Hampton University

Alyssa Lena Rivera has always been dedicated to her education and her community. As a student with a 3.75 GPA, she has worked hard to earn her place at Hampton University, her dream HBCU, where she plans to pursue a nursing degree. Throughout high school, Alyssa was a committed member of JROTC for all four years, participated in volleyball, and gave back by helping young kids in an after-school program. Her leadership extended to being part of the Student Government Association, showing her drive to make a difference both in and out of the classroom.
Alyssa’s journey has been made possible by the unwavering support of her mom, stepdad, grandparents, and a close-knit village of family friends. Her family has always put her education first, hoping to give her the best opportunities for a brighter future. Teachers have gone out of their way to write recommendations, making sure Alyssa’s academic achievements and work ethic shine. This strong network of support has helped Alyssa reach this point, and they all want to see her succeed at Hampton University.
Despite her achievements and the encouragement of her village, covering the costs of tuition and housing has been a challenge while also trying to meet the deadline before her August 18th move in date. Alyssa has applied for scholarships but has not yet received the support she needs. She is determined to pay for her first year and plans to work while attending school, but the financial gap remains significant. This fundraiser is to help Alyssa focus on her studies and her dream of becoming a nurse, without the constant worry of how to pay for school. Every contribution will go directly toward her tuition and housing, giving her the chance to thrive at Hampton University and continue her journey of service, leadership, and academic excellence.
