Help Me Save My Cat Right Before I Start College
Hi! This is Poppy, and my name is Alyssa. I’m 21 and I'm about to start college (yay!), but now my kitty needs some help . I’m starting college in just a few weeks, which is something I’ve worked really hard for. But of course, life decided to keep things interesting.
A couple of days ago I went on a short vacation (my first in foreverrr), and when I came back home Poppy was terrified, aggressive, and obviously in pain. But she wouldn’t let us close enough to get a good look at her, so we thought the storms had just riled her up. Once she finally let me close enough to get a good look, I saw she had a deep gash on her back leg. We took her to the vet immediately, but our regular vet wasn’t able to fully treat her. We were sent to a nearby animal hospital for further treatment, where they found the wound to be infected, and a portion of the surrounding tissue had gone necrotic. They said they would need to sedate her, remove the dead tissue, and then stitch the wound to help her heal properly.
The total cost for this urgent care is $1,023. I had no choice but to use money from my college savings to make sure she got the treatment she needed. It’s been heartbreaking and overwhelming to see her in pain, and I just want to make sure she gets better and back to being her usual self. You know, napping on my clean laundry and stealing food from people, lol. She has helped me through the challenges of even getting college started, now I need to be there for her too. If you know me then you know my cat is my world, I would do absolutely anything for her. She’s not just my pet, she’s one of my closest friends (or at least, she's one of mine lol.)
I’m reaching out for help to recover the funds that I had to take from my savings so that I can still start this next chapter of my life, without falling behind before it even begins. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world to me. And if you’re not able to donate, sharing this would help more than you know.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me, and for helping my sweet baby get back on her feet.
Thanks so much,
Alyssa
