Help Alyssa and Matthew Keep Their Home

Hello Everyone,

Thank you in advance for reading about our situation and even considering making a donation

to this fund. Alyssa and I (Matthew) find ourselves at a significant crossroads.

When Alyssa and I began dating, she had just moved in with her Grandfather. He was a

wonderful and generous man, and their living situation benefitted both of them. He was old

school, and it was challenging for him to open his home to me, his granddaughter’s “beau,” but

he did, and for that, we are very grateful.

In August, we decided to get engaged! We were looking forward to where this next step would lead us and focusing on planning our wedding. Unfortunately, in October, Gramps passed away. The passing of this remarkable man left many broken hearts, but it also left many challenging decisions to be made by his children. It means wedding plans have somewhat been put on hold, and we need to make plans for where we will now live. As would be expected, the decision was made to sell the family home.

The home is in a highly desirable location, and the price point is consistent with what we are looking for anywhere in the greater Seattle area. Additionally, we would very much like to try to keep this home in the

family. The family is willing to work with us, but even the lowest estimates are above our current financial situation given the market conditions.

Even more pressing is that time is not on our side. Despite each of us working in traditional

day-to-day positions, as well as both of us working two additional entrepreneurial jobs, we don’t

have the time to build up a sizeable down payment as we need to keep the mortgage down

and allow us also to consider having a family in the future.

We decided we would try GoFundMe to see if anyone would like to support two artists trying to

continue the family story in this home that started over 50 years ago.
