Our hearts have been broken by an unimaginable tragedy. There are no words that truly make sense after a loss like this.
Jimmie Reid Jr., known to so many as “Junior,” unexpectedly lost his life on Tuesday, March 24, leaving behind his loving wife Alyssa, their young child, and a baby on the way, along with family, friends, and a community that cared deeply about him. In a moment, their world changed forever.
Junior was the kind of person you never forgot. If you spent even a few minutes with him, you knew you were around someone special. He had a big heart, a contagious laugh, had a way of making the people around him feel like family, and a personality that could light up any room. He loved his family deeply, worked hard, and lived his life with the kind of energy and humor that made people feel comfortable the moment they met him. To know Junior was to know someone who could make you smile even on your worst day.
His loss has left a hole in the hearts of everyone who knew him, but none more than his wife Alyssa, who is now facing the unthinkable - grieving the loss of her husband while also trying to be strong for their child and preparing to welcome another baby into the world. What should be a time filled with excitement and anticipation has instead become a time of grief, uncertainty, and heartbreak.
The road ahead will not be easy, and the weight of this loss is more than any family should have to carry alone.
