Over the last year, Alyssa has had worsening complications of liver disease. She is in need of a 12 week medical treatment and eventually a transplant.

Alyssa is fiercely independent and never asks for, wants, or expects help from anyone. I am putting this together on behalf of the life she is beyond deserving of, and on behalf of her amazing daughter, Melanie. Alyssa deserves a chance to have a hardship lightened for once in her life and Melanie deserves to make more memories with her mother.

For now, I want to direct focus on helping with the cost of the treatment and all that encompasses. As we all know, healthcare can be ruthless and the cost of Alyssa’s very needed treatment is astronomical. I’m hoping to alleviate some of the financial burden of not only the medication cost for treatment, but day to day expenses; supplements, food, rent, transportation, etc.

Alyssa’s healthcare coverage has repeatedly been denied for non-applicable reasons. While it was initially ideal to wait for the healthcare coverage to be confirmed, her and her medical team need to keep pushing forward, as time is of the essence. Alyssa is still fighting to get coverage, but it’s been a frustrating process, and treatment will still be costly.

Any amount you’re able to donate will help lighten the load during this stressful and unpredictable time, and be extremely appreciated.

Alyssa needs to focus on rest and healing as best she can, all while dealing with the side effects of treatment. I am not about to watch my friend get the wind knocked out of her by life, again. She’s been dealt a rough hand yet she’s the one who will help lighten the mood, quick to remind you that it’s not that deep, and cheer you up with her quirky and dark humor. However, when you’re really going through it, she is first in line ready to go to battle for the ones she loves. Right now she needs us to go to battle for her.
