My name is Alyssa, and I’m reaching out for support so I don’t have to cancel my scheduled Voice Feminization surgery. I’ve already had to cancel once before, and unfortunately, that led to an increase in the cost. I rescheduled because I truly believed I could manage it on my own, but I’ve realized I need help to make this happen.

This surgery is so much more than a procedure for me—it’s a chance to finally feel comfortable and confident when I leave my apartment and interact with the world. Right now, I worry about being identified from my voice alone, and it holds me back from living fully. Having this surgery would mean I could move through life with less fear and more freedom to be myself.

My surgery is scheduled for June 17th in San Francisco. I’ll need to be there from Monday, June 15th to Friday, June 19th for pre-op and recovery, and then return for a follow-up from June 29th to July 1st. The funds I’m raising will cover my flights and accommodations (booked together through Expedia), food, Lyft rides, speech therapy sessions, and a required letter for surgery. The surgery itself will be billed separately and is expected to be covered by insurance, as was my previous surgery two years ago. The amount I’m asking for is solely to cover these travel and preparation costs so I can finally move forward without worry.
