My name is Alyson and I have a degenerative disorder where most of my joints are failing. I’ve already had several spine and joint surgeries, and now I need another total hip replacement in order to: walk; get a new job (after being laid off by a job I loved and dedicated myself to for 23 years); and care for my two kids as a single mom.

Due to circumstances out of my control, I missed the window for COBRA and find myself with no income or health insurance.

The hospital will not assist me financially, even after my amazing surgeon reached out on my behalf.

So here I am… as a dear friend reminded me, putting my pride aside so that I can keep moving forward for myself and my kids.

The surgery will cost me $14,000.
