Help Alyson Get a New Heart

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

We are reaching out to ask for your help and support for our sister's heart transplant.

As many of you know, Alyson was diagnosed with leukemia in the spring of 1988. Later that same year, she underwent a successful bone marrow transplant with a donation from her oldest sister. Alyson married her high school sweetheart, Keith, who has been with her since the very beginning. In 2000, Alyson gave birth to a beautiful baby with the help from her youngest sister, who donated eggs for IVF treatment. All Alyson had ever wanted was to be a wife and mother. In 2001, Alyson was diagnosed with congestive heart failure caused by some of the chemotherapy she received in 1988. She followed all the instructions of her physicians and led a very healthy, active life. Alyson went back to school and finished her teaching degree. She became a special education preschool teacher and loved her job. In 2022, she left teaching, but not by choice. In early 2024, Alyson became tired and sluggish; this continued for several months. In early August, at a routine cardiology visit, Alyson was told that she was in end-stage heart failure. Alyson went to the hospital in mid-September to begin a workup to potentially be placed on the heart transplant list. Alyson has recently been told that she is an excellent candidate for a heart transplant. She is currently at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago awaiting a new heart.

Alyson means so much to so many; she may be your colleague, your neighbor, your friend, family, or your child's teacher. You may not know her directly, but may know her indirectly through her sisters, Angi and Andrea. You may know her through her parents, her husband, Keith, or countless other people she knows. No matter how she has touched your life, please help us by taking some of the financial burden off her and her family's shoulders. No amount is too small; every little bit will help her family.

Thank you

Angi and Dominick Scola and their family, Andrea and Tom Domino and their family, and Doug and Debbie Farmer, her parents
