Help Alysa’s medical bills. Douglas Wy
Alysa is 11 yrs old and lives in douglas. wy. She started having side pain last summer 2020. Unknown reasons. Eventually in July they had a CT done and discovered a liver mass 6 cm in size. Sent to Denver to see a liver Dr and was told it was caused by an ameba of some type. Which was weird because it usually is seen in places like Mexico and she hadn’t been there. She was put on some heavy duty medication which causes her to become quite nauseous therefore she didn’t eat or drink much. This resulted in a 25 +pound weight loss. About Oct another CT done and the mass was 3 cm. Another round of the same medication. In the meantime she tried to go to school but she wasn’t able to make it for too long. In December she started having pain and felt like she was having troubles while breathing so took her to the ER and had a Special CT done and discovered the mass was now 13 cm now. Several specialist came together in Denver and wanted her to come to Children’s Hospital immediately. The next day they inserted a drain into the liver and removed 250 cc of pus from the liver. She went home (4 hrs away) with a drain in. Several cc each day drained.
December 30th back to Denver for 2 dayto checkup and get a new drain in. Will
be returning to Denver on Jan 12 for
another 2 days to hopefully get the drain out. There’s going to be several more
trips to Denver for check ups.
she is feeling so much better now the
infection is out. One of the Drs said this
is very rare. Something he has only ever
read about and never seen. turns out it wasn’t an ameba after all. Something got into her blood and attached to her liver.
Now the medical bills are coming in.
Both parents work full time and have
health ins but that pays only so much
and not to mention hotel cost, gas, food
Anything will help.
Thank you all.
