ALyece Lenae Designs is a luxury tailoring boutique specializing in bridal tailoring, custom garment design, and alterations. My journey into sewing began at the age of seven. As a child, I loved Barbie dolls, but my mother could not always afford new clothing for them. Determined to create my own, I taught myself how to make doll clothes. What started as a childhood necessity quickly became a lifelong passion.

As my skills developed, I became fascinated with bridal fashion and dreamed of one day owning a bridal boutique. Over the years, I studied garment construction, patternmaking, and sewing techniques, continually refining my craft. While I enjoyed creating garments, I discovered that my true talent and passion lay in solving fit and construction challenges. This realization led me to specialize in tailoring.

Initially, I worked primarily on everyday clothing, but I soon found myself seeking more complex and technically demanding work. Bridal tailoring provided exactly that challenge. Wedding gowns require an exceptional understanding of garment construction, fabric behavior, fit, and hand-finishing techniques. Every gown is unique, and every alteration requires precision, creativity, and problem-solving. Bridal tailoring allows me to operate at the highest level of my skill while helping clients during one of the most meaningful moments of their lives.

Receiving donations would allow me to take several important steps toward achieving that vision. Currently, I still operate using a home sewing machine, which limits both efficiency and the volume of work I can take on. Grant funds would be used to purchase professional-grade tailoring and sewing equipment that would improve the quality, speed, and consistency of my services while allowing me to handle more complex projects.

Donations also help me secure and maintain a dedicated workspace. Managing overhead costs has been one of the biggest challenges in growing my business. A professional workspace would provide a more comfortable and efficient environment for client fittings, consultations, and garment production while creating a stronger foundation for long-term growth.

In addition, I would like to expand ALyece Lenae Designs by offering sewing and tailoring classes to members of the community. Teaching would allow me to share valuable skills, preserve the craft of sewing, and create new opportunities for aspiring designers and makers. As demand for my services continues to grow, I also hope to hire an assistant to help with daily operations and production support. This would increase my capacity to serve clients while creating employment opportunities within my community.
