Alyssa had the honor of being nominated to represent Deer Valley High School at the National Youth Leadership Forum: National Security-Diplomacy, Intelligence and Defense in Washington D.C. at the University of Maryland this summer 2021.
The mission of NYLF National Security is to recognize and honor the nation's top high school scholars and prepare them for a possible career in public service.
While there she will be introduced to the decision makers, diplomats, and military leaders who are charged with keeping our nation safe. Aly will learn about the latest intelligence strategies and put them into action in a true-to-life national security simulation. She will go behind the scenes of the United States' diplomatic and national security policy-making structure to experience firsthand how the U.S. plans for peace and prepares for crisis. She will have the honor of visiting the U.S. State Department, the Pentagon, FBI Headquarters, U.S. Naval Academy and the Embassy of Japan to name a few.
