Aly Holguin awoke from a coma at the Nexus Children’s Hospital in Dallas not knowing where he was and how come he could not move his arms or legs. He was scared, alone, without any family, friends, or financial means.
Two months earlier, mere days before his 18th birthday, Aly was involved in a serious car accident in El Paso that catastrophically injured him, fracturing several vertebrae. His injuries were so severe, he was airlifted to specialists in Dallas with the hope of saving his life. After multiple surgeries, for two months his life hung in the balance.
In late May, Aly was released from the hospital. A resilient young man, he has regained partial use of his arms and full ability to speak and communicate. However, he still has no use of his legs and only has access to a manual wheelchair. He has been reunited with his mother in El Paso, though he has a long way to go and will require years of therapy.
He remains strong and optimistic; however, he desperately needs some financial assistance for ongoing medical care and most importantly, a wheelchair that can provide mobility for Aly.
Any donations, small or large, are meaningful and appreciated.
Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward them for what they have done.
