I want to start this out by being completely honest - I am embarrassed making a gofundme but I have run out of options.
A couple of weeks ago I started to get a dull pain in the area of a tooth I recently got treated for an infection. My fears were confirmed, when the dentist told me that my molar has gotten reinfected and I need a re-treatment. Yesterday (7/22), I went to the Endodontist for what is officially referred to as a root canal re-treatment with post - but they informed me that they are unable to treat me because my insurance does not cover the cost.
The surgery to re-treat the area and clean out the infection costs $800.00 (USD) alone and it is vital that I get the crown on top to prevent this from happening again which is another $750.00. In total, I am expected to spend $1,550.00 before taxes - but these numbers are not guaranteed since it is a completely different surgery from the first and the doctors cannot give me a definitive number.
To make matters worse, EVO cannot come at a worse time. Originally, I was going to set up a donation drive through my stream to get money for my flight over but now that the dilemma with my tooth is happening, it is adding extra financial stress and I may not even make it to EVO.
I have various necessary living expenses like rent, utilities, etc that are already putting a strain on my finances and saving for the surgery myself will take months - months that have the potential to turn my infection into a fatal one.
The immense pressure I have to come up with this money has effected me in ways I cannot begin to describe. I have been losing sleep, I am not as focused as I should be with work, I am an anxious mess and it has effected my personal relationships because I have started to close myself off.
It should go without saying, but any donations made will 100% go towards the surgery. I will cover anything else like transportation and aftercare, and I will give updates on my health and the surgery through my twitter @AlukardNY.
