Hi, my name is Althea Lonergan, I am a triathlete from Tipperary, Ireland. I’ve earned the chance to represent Ireland at the European AG Triathlon Championships in Istanbul—and I’m fundraising to get to the start line.

Sport has always been a huge part of my life — initially with GAA, gymnastics, and showjumping, then onto CrossFit and most recently, Triathlon. I transitioned to Triathlon in 2024, with some age group success in my first season in the sport, but 2025 has really been a great season for me so far, with multiple age group podiums in duathlon and triathlon events around the country.

Now, I’m beyond proud that I’ve been selected to represent Ireland at the European AG Triathlon Championships in Istanbul this August.

This is a dream come true and a huge honour to wear the green tri suit.

However, this opportunity is completely self-funded — and that’s where I could use your help.
