Hello, my name is Krista, and I’m reaching out for help with my sweet baby girl, Althea. Recently, she was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection (UTI), which eventually led to a kidney infection. The medical bills are adding up quickly. When I took her in she had a fever of 105.4, which is obviously listed as critical. The fever is going down slowly. They said that her X-rays showed that her left kidney was double the size of her right kidney.

Althea means the world to me, and I want to do everything I can to make sure she gets the care she deserves.

Shes been with me through so much over the past (almost 6 years). she truly is an ESA to a T.

She’s currently receiving treatment, but the costs for her tests, medication, etc are higher than I anticipated. The total amount for her care is nearing $4,000, but this could grow as I was only given antibiotics for a week. The recommended course is 4 weeks, but a recent study said that it “could” be gone in a week.

Depending on whether I need to admit her again, time will tell. I do anticipate another bill in about a week when I do my follow up with her normal vet( I took her to an emergency 24 hr vet because it was late and she was having heavy breathing and was hiding). I had monitored her symptoms for a little under two days, in which she wasn’t eating, was very lethargic, and slept in the same spot for hours on end.
