Help us get to Brighton Fringe!

Who Are We?
We are a collective of creatives — actors, directors, choreographers, playwrights and all round theatre makers — crafting original work in the UK.

What Do We Do?
We create, develop, workshop, and produce our own original theatre productions, aiming to create new and exciting work. Inspired by the enigmas of life and using creative storytelling techniques, we combine the unconventional with conventional mediums of theatre to produce a unique and alternative experience to the norm.

What Show Are We Taking To The Fringe?
B*ST*RDS! A new two-hander musical comedy, written by Will Holyhead and composed by Alex James Ellison.

The year is 1652. William D’Avenant, is locked in the Tower of London. A prisoner condemned for the crime of treason. For D’Avenant, release and freedom seem a hopeless dream, until one day he receives an unexpected summon from the most powerful man in the country, who has a problem that only he can fix…

The show follows three meetings between Oliver Cromwell - England’s only ever dictator. And playwright, William D’Avenant - The suspected illegitimate child of Shakespeare, responsible for writing the first ever English Opera to get around Cromwell's anti-theatre laws.

It explores the crazy but very real possibility that the only man in British history to ban theatre - might have helped to invent musical theatre....

Why Should You Give?
Would you like to be a part of an exciting new chapter of British theatre? Would you like to support original work and bring obscure/unknown stories to the stage? We think it is important for individuality to thrive within the world of theatre. Your financial donation can help us achieve this.

How does your donation supports us?
It will support us in taking our first show to the Brighton Fringe in May 2024. It is expensive to produce a show and with nature of fringe theatre, ticket sales will not be enough to cover our total running costs.
These include:
* Festival registration fees
* Venue hire
* Production costs (e.g. costumes, set, props)
* Actor Fees
* Travel Fees
* Marketing and advertising

Your donation will help us to bridge the gap between the cost of this production and the possible income that will allow us to make exciting theatre whilst also paying people fairly for their time.

We'd really appreciate your donation however big or small and we hope that you can support us in this exciting chapter for Alternative Direction!
