Help Altadena Preschool Teachers Stay Afloat
Donation protected
My friends Wendy and Brett run the Nature Meets Nurture preschool in Altadena. They have created an incredible play-based environment from their home and have dedicated everything to making it a dream program for their families.
Unfortunately, the Eaton Canyon Fire has devastated their community, destroying 11 of their 14 students' homes. Wendy and Brett feel extremely fortunate that their home is still standing. However, their neighborhood on Pepper Drive remains inaccessible due to ongoing inspections and National Guard blockades.
Because the preschool operates from the back part of their home, it is currently closed and does not have a timeline for when it can safely reopen. This disruption affects not only their students but also the amazing teachers employed by Nature Meets Nurture, each of whom has families of their own to support.
Wendy and Brett are committed to paying their teachers while they wait for clearance to reopen their preschool. They hope to raise this money to help cover income support for their staff over the next 6 weeks. These are excellent educators, and Nature Meets Nurture does not want to lose such loyal and talented staff. Wendy and Brett hope this support will ensure that their teachers have the financial security they need to weather this terrible time and that they can all return to work as soon as it is safe.
Thank you for considering contributing. I admire Wendy and Brett's tireless energy and generosity in showing up for their families. I hope we can rally to show them the same.
