Hello! This is Alpine, the younger of my two cats, who is in need of intensive dental work to treat an incredibly painful and chronic case of stomatitis.
She was born on the streets about seven years ago and scooped up by a cat rescue after having her first heat and first litter. She languished in the rescue for five long years because the stress of travel was too much for her, so the rescue was uncertain if she would ever get adopted. Finally, I came into the picture and they asked me to foster her, and to see if I could figure out why she was not eating, as it had been a few days.
Within 24 hours, I noticed that she was having mouth pain, and through a series of vet visits, it was determined that she had stomatitis, which is an incurable autoimmune disorder involving intensely painful inflammation of the soft mouth tissues. We've been treating it in the almost four years that I got her, but it's reached a head now, and we are at a point where we HAVE to do extractions for her quality of life.
Extractions are not cheap, and so, for the life of my sweet Alpine, I am raising funds to cover the cost of her surgery. This will improve her life dramatically. The GoFundMe will cover the surgery and the full dental required on the remaining teeth, and it will hopefully get her off of the longterm steroid shots that could lead to feline diabetes.
Thank you so much for all your help!
