Help Alpha Sig Racing get a new Kart!
Alpha Sig Racing has been a historically dominant team at the Purdue Grand Prix with 4 wins, multiple pole positions, and many podiums. We've been fortunate to have great drivers, dedicated team members, and lots of support from alumni and the house. However, after the house's refounding the team died out, and it was only thanks to the work of alumni Cason Robbins, Kyle Tilley, Eric Juliot, and Drew Gearhart, along with the many brothers supporting them, that we're back to having a competitive team today. With the 2020 race being canceled our team this year was essentially all rookies, but we were still able to take 4th in qualifying with one kart and 13th in the race with our other kart, despite many setbacks and a steep learning curve. Now we're eager to improve our program and start preparing for next year's race!
We struggled this year financially and had to ask for a lot of additional support from the house, which isn't something we can rely upon going forward. We're really looking to improve the program and we're starting with putting together a new house kart. Currently we only have one house kart, as the kart that Nash drove this year was borrowed from alumni Eric Juliot. We're very grateful for his support but long term we need to be running 2 karts that we have ownership over. Beyond a new kart, we learned that there are many expenses that come with running a racing team that were unforeseen. We've laid out a few funding goals that your financial support will be going towards if we
surpass our initial goal:
New competitive kart (chassis, cage, engine, drivetrain, electronics) ($7000) (We expect half of this to be contributed by sponsors)
New/spare clutches ($1000)
Engine Rebuilds ($1000)
Upgrades to current house kart ($500)
Funding to run in other races, like Whiteland's fall race ($400)
