My name is Caleb Georges, and I’m proud to coach the Alpha Legacy AAU Basketball team in Somerset County, Maryland. Last year, with the support of our community, we raised half of our goal and had an incredible season—winning 7 out of the 8 championships we entered. Just as important, we brought together players from two local high schools and built friendships, teamwork, and unity that extended beyond the court.

Your generosity helped provide uniforms, travel, lodging, and meals for tournaments, allowing our athletes to compete and grow as teammates, leaders, and young men.

As we continue building this program, our goal goes far beyond simply playing in more tournaments. Over the next few years, we are intentionally selecting tournaments where college coaches and recruiters are present so our players can compete in front of them. In our area, those opportunities don’t come to our athletes—so we have to take our athletes to them. That means traveling to compete, winning at a high level, and exposing our players to what is possible beyond high school basketball.

At the same time, we hold our players to a strong standard of accountability and academic excellence, because the path to college requires success in the classroom as well as on the court. Through mentorship, discipline, and opportunity, we want these young men to see that basketball can open doors—but only if they are prepared to walk through them.

Because our region offers limited tournaments, travel makes up a large portion of our expenses. Every donation helps us place these athletes in environments where they can compete, grow, and be seen.
