Alpa Patel has always been the friend you can count on—someone who shows up for others with kindness, generosity, and a warm heart. She’s faced more than her share of challenges, but she’s met each one with gratitude and grace, never asking for anything in return. Now, after years of calling her apartment home, Alpa is facing an unexpected crisis.

Last week, a fire severely damaged the main home on her landlord’s property. Alpa’s apartment, which relied on the main house for water and heat, is no longer suitable to live in. She was told she needs to move out, leaving her and her dog, Aarya, searching for a new place to call home. After years of stability and affordable rent, Alpa is now facing the daunting reality of higher costs and the urgent need to relocate.
