Help, My name is Alondra, and I’m raising funds to move myself and my two cats out of an unsafe building. After a breakup, I moved here with the help of my ex, not realizing how dangerous it would be. I’ve lived here for two years, and while there are some good people and management has tried their best, the reality is that the bad far outweighs the good.

In my first year, my neighbor was involved with a drug dealer, leading to constant yelling, late-night guests, and the smell of drugs seeping into my apartment. I reported these issues, and management moved me to a different floor, but the problems didn’t stop. Recently, people have tried to break into my unit, and the apartments next to me have been left empty or boarded up because of squatters. Just this week, someone tried to get into my apartment, and when I called the police, I was met with little empathy or support. Living alone, I feel targeted and unsafe every day.

I’m asking for help to cover moving costs, deposits, first and last month’s rent, and food for myself and my cats. I don’t have a new place yet, but I’m searching for a building with better security so I can finally feel safe and at home. As a lesbian and a Mexican, I don’t feel safe anywhere and  I  just want to live somewhere I can truly belong without fear. Your support will help me and my cats start over in a safer environment.
