Help Aloma: TaTa to the TATAS Implant Removal

Donation protected
Hello friends! Most of you who know me understand that I don't like to ask for help. I've always found a way to get things done, handle business, or whatever it was, making it happen by any means necessary. I've always been creative and resourceful. But I’m reaching out to you today for assistance because I urgently need to have my breast implants removed. I just can't manage this on my own. I need you. Any help you can provide would be a tremendous blessing.

Unfortunately, insurance does not cover the cost, and additionally, finding a qualified doctor to perform this extensive surgery has been quite challenging. Being self-employed has created other obstacles as well. I won't be able to lift anything heavier than 10 lbs for up to six weeks. That's tough for someone in my line of work. So not only do I need money for the surgery, I also have to ensure I can pay my bills for two months. I have some money set aside for living expenses, but the total cost of the surgery is going to be just over $ 14,000. Yes, I know, it's a lot of money. Everything will be covered by that fee. Everything. And I am confident that it will be done RIGHT. I do have access to CareCredit for about half of the cost; of course, I have no idea what the payments will be, but I will have to sort that out when it's time to pay the piper.

I know some people won't understand the tremendous guilt I feel for doing this to my body; I put myself in this position. I believed the lie when I was younger that implants were safe and would make me feel “whole. " They did not. Instead, they have created a multitude of health issues that have progressively gotten worse and more concerning, with the last year being the worst. The longer they remain inside me, the greater the risk of capsule rupture and toxic silicone and bacteria leaking into my body. As you can imagine, the thought of that is quite frightening and, unfortunately, a definite probability the longer I wait.

I have a phone consultation on Tuesday to have any final questions answered. My surgery will take place in Chicago, with Dr. Sood. His experience and technique with this procedure are regarded as top-notch. He removes the entire capsule surrounding the implant in one piece, which is essentially scar tissue that is now contracting or hardening, causing discomfort. Removing the whole capsule is necessary to prevent any silicone from leaking into the body. Not all doctors would be willing or able to perform this type of explant surgery en bloc.

I am confident this is the best. option for me, and for the first time in a very long time, I can envision a life free of implants! I have been living with constant pain and discomfort, chronic inflammation, joint pain, chest pain, chronic fatigue, and a long list of other issues. Of course, I will continue to share my journey, and honestly, I hope I can help someone else make a better-informed decision about implants and the effects of BII (breast implant illness). Believe me, I can check off a lot more of those symptoms; even though they aren't as severe as some women's, they are still present, and I'm looking forward to a life free of silicone.

Thank you for considering my fundraising effort. And if you can't contribute, please pray for me, for the doctor, and for my healthy recovery. If there is a sense of urgency here, it's because they have openings in May and I need to get on that calendar asap. . .thank you friends.

xoxo
