Help the Almazo Family Pay for Medical Expenses

On November 19th 2020 my Father Francisco Saul Almazo was walking home from the store after work as per usual. Unfortunately he suffered a sudden heart attack, fell in the street, and began to convulse. Luckily a good Smartian noticed him and provided CPR. However it was too late, due to lack of oxygen he suffered an Anoxic Brain Injury, and is currently living with brain damage. The Doctors have said he is unlikely to recover and have asked us to either pull the plug or send him home once he is stable enough to do so. He is currently in a vegetative state, with palliative care procedures in place to ensure he is comfortable and stable. I am starting this fundraiser to help us convert our home into a place where he can live comfortably and be properly cared for. Which would include a wheel chair, bed harness, and vehicle to transport him, and to outright pay for a care facility to start rehabilitation.

The story of my Father is one of resilience, tenacity, and inspiration. 4 Months after being born, his mother passed away due to a heart attack, he was then raised with the help of 9 siblings of which he is the youngest. He grew up with nothing in extreme poverty, however despite the odds he made it to America in the late 80s with nothing more than a few dollars and a dream. Fast forward to the present, he has been happily married for over 20 years, and is a loving Father and Grandfather to three beautiful children. Saul refused to accept the cards life dealt him and decided to carve his own path through blood, sweat and tears. He is a man whos humility and work ethic are truly unmatched, but now its his turn to rest and enjoy the remainder of his days on this Earth surrounded by those who deeply love and care for him. Unfortunately due to his immigration status we are unable to get him health insurance or medicade, which means that all of the expenses will be left to us. The hospital he is in sees him as just a body taking up room at their facility and has done little to provide any resources or help concerning future therapy or home care.

So please if you could find it in your heart to help a man who always put his family and friends needs before his, it would be greatly appreciated, by sending in a donation or by simply sharing the gofundme link across your social media platforms. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you.
