Help Almameh and Mariama move into their own home
Donation protected
My name is Manon, and I work on infectious diseases. As an undergraduate, I had the life-changing experience of travelling to The Gambia, in West Africa, for a project. While there, I met Almameh. We stayed in touch, and in the years that followed, he got married to Mariama and had four children: Mohammed (now 11), Alice (7), Kebba (4) and Abaca (2). Almameh is a tailor by training but making ends meet is hard and the pandemic has made it even harder. Myself and a friend pay for the children's education, but sometimes they run out of money for food and rent.
A couple of months ago, Almameh inherited a house from his uncle. The house (pictured) is not currently livable, but if they could afford repairs, they could move in and stop paying rent - which could hugely change their family's financial situation.
We would be so grateful for any contributions.
Thank you!
