Hi everyone, my name is Allysa. I purchased my first car in January of this year at F & M Motors in Detroit. I did a lot of research regarding my first car because I was going by myself. I worked for months at 3 different jobs, saving up money for this car and working every day and all day while still paying for my own bills. I put $4,000 down on the car, and once I purchased it, the guy who sold me the car told me the car was in great condition and they did a bunch of repairs on it when they got it, new tires, etc!

So after I drove off the lot, the next day I obviously went to a car shop to get it looked at. There were a ton of issues with the car regarding the engine. I took it back to the car shop, and they told me I could take it to their repair shop and they would fix it, but because I didn't have a warranty on it, which would be an extra $500 a month, I would have to pay to get it fixed. So I then put an extra $3,500 for it to get fixed, only for it to not be fixed and me having to go back every two weeks to get it looked at. I then finally got it fixed fully.

A week later, I am driving the car and my car starts smoking on the highway. My car explodes into flames, and I pull over onto the side of the road. This random guy pulls over and starts throwing grass onto the flames, and it bursts into flames, breaking all the glass in my car, and flames are on the ground. The fire department finally arrives and puts the car out, but my car is completely totaled. I was hospitalized after with bruised ribs and smoke inhalation afterwards.I call my insurance company and the place that sold me the car. The fire department told me it was an engine malfunction issue and an electrical issue. The insurance company won’t cover it because it was not an accident, and the place that sold me the car said, “Maybe it’s the way that I was driving the car.”

I am a very safe driver, and since I’ve purchased the car, I’ve only been driving it to and from work. The dealership is still making me pay off the car, which I have about $9,000 left on! I’m not a person that asks for help or likes to ask for money from people, but with me starting college this year and working 2 jobs at the moment, I would like help to pay off the car so I can purchase a new car and get to my jobs because I need them to pay off my daily bills and school!
